Upper Blepharoplasty

Upper blepharoplasty corrects excess skin and, when needed, the fat pads of the upper eyelids. It restores freshness, openness and expression to the gaze, without altering its shape. It is one of the most appreciated aesthetic procedures: short, minimally painful, with scars hidden in the natural eyelid crease.

Suitable for patients with excess upper-lid skin, a heavy gaze, hooding (skin falling over the lashes) or asymmetry. Evaluation of brow position and lid function is systematic to exclude true ptosis, which calls for a different procedure.

Surgery takes 45 to 60 minutes under local anaesthesia (with or without sedation), as an outpatient. The scar, hidden in the crease, becomes nearly invisible within weeks. Sutures are removed on day 5 to 6. Social return is typically possible after 7 to 10 days.

Risks (temporary dry eye, bruising, asymmetry) are rare and discussed in consultation. Surgery performed by a plastic surgeon trained in oculoplastics considerably reduces complication risks.
